Proposed New (or Reactivated) Committees Needing Volunteers
If you would like to chair or volunteer for a committee, please contact Board President Larry Knigge, ARC Chair Judy Weidner, or Communication Committee Chair Ruth Pewitt.
Special Events Committee (proposed)
This committee’s purpose would be to find ways to get the community more involved in activities that would allow them to know their neighbors a little bit better, to meet and welcome new families when they move to the area. Projects this committee might want to undertake could include, but not be limited to, National Neighbors Night Out, Holiday activities (4th of July, Memorial Day, etc.), Spring Park Clean Up, Easter Egg Hunt, etc. A good size for this committee would be 4-5 members who could and would be able to devote the necessary time on an “as needed” basis.
Newsletter Committee (proposed)
This committee’s purpose would be to maintain contact with all residents on a regularly scheduled basis, either electronically or via printed material, to ensure the community is aware of things that impact them, problems that might be occurring, services that might be available in the area (babysitting, pet sitting, etc.) This committee would require members with skills that should include, but are not limited to, computer newsletter layout & design, writing skills, good interviewing skills, photography skills, and the time to commit to a couple of hours each month. A good size for this committee would be 3 or 4 members.
Neighborhood Watch Committee (reactivate)
The Neighborhood Watch Committee is no longer officially active but could be reactivated if volunteers were interested.

Special Interest Groups
Do you have a special interest for which you wish there was a local group? It wouldn’t take much to find others with a similar interest and start that group. Contact the Communications Committee to post your interest on the web site to get the ball rolling.
The only currently active group is a women’s book club that meets the third or fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Discussions range from the sublime to the ridiculous! If you love to read and would like to participate, call Renee Vandivere at 936-441-6561.
Other possible groups that could be formed if people were interested might include: Stitchery, Crafts, Gardening, Antiques, Toddler Play Group, Pet Sitting, Bridge, Bunco, Dining Out, Yoga, Hiking, Biking, Walking or Jogging.
If your interest is in something not already listed, let the Communications Committee know and we’ll post it on the web site.
